Antique Moving

Your Priceless Antiques are Safe With Us

Whether your antique is a belonging of great monetary and personal value, or a treasured family heirloom, it is crucial that its safety is the top priority during a move.
Some antique furniture even requires careful disassembly – your Muscle Man Moving & Piano Experts team knows how to perform these tasks attentively, giving you the peace of mind that your precious items go undamaged.

What You Can Do to Help

Antiques, like art, are often of great value to their owners, both monetary and sentimental. Due to the age of many antique items, it is likely that pieces are missing or loose.

Be sure to carefully inspect your antique items and let us know of any concerns – this will allow us to ensure no further damage is done during transport.

We ask that all drawers are emptied, and anything that could potentially open be secured with stretch wrap.

It is also preferred that any knobs, mirrors, or additional pieces are removed, marked, and packed separately. Our team is happy to help you with this process!

How We Move & Unload Antiques

Now for our part of the job – our biggest preventative measure is to cover the piece with moving blankets and securing the blanket with stretch wrap – this helps protect glass elements and avoid any nicks, dents, or scratches to your priceless pieces.

Once we arrive at the new location with your antiques, our moving teams carefully unpack the antique and reassemble any necessary pieces – we’ll even place the item in its new home!

Antique Moving Tips

Our teams take the utmost care in not only moving your precious antiques safely, but also educating you in the best ways to get the most bang for your buck when working with Muscle Man Moving. Keep reading for a few helpful tips on how to ensure the safety of your belongings during your move:

  • If your items are being transported to a storage unit, keep in mind that some paintings and antiques require a climate-controlled environment.
  • Check if your items are covered by your home insurance policy. If not, it may be smart to look into purchasing additional coverage from Muscleman Moving & Piano Experts.
  • Placing your antiques in a crate is a very secure option, albeit a more expensive approach. Don’t hesitate to ask us about this alternative.
  • Mark all boxes with fragile or delicate items clearly (i.e., writing “FRAGILE”) – this helps us know to take extra caution when moving certain boxes.
  • There is typically no additional charge for art and antique moves, unless the item in question is over 300 lbs.
Move safely, every time
