Pool table movers with disassembly + re-level
Slate disassembly, felt protection, full re-level at destination — the way a pool table is supposed to move.
A pool table does not move in one piece. The slate slabs come off the frame (often three pieces, sometimes one), the felt comes off the slate, the rails detach from the frame. We disassemble at origin, transport every component with the right packing, and reassemble with a full re-level at destination. A pool table that arrives un-leveled is a pool table that plays badly forever.
Quick answer
How do professional movers move a pool table?
A pool table never moves in one piece. Muscleman Elite disassembles it at origin — rails off the frame, felt off the slate, and the slate slabs (often three) lifted separately — transports each component packed, then reassembles and fully re-levels it at the destination so it plays true. A table moved whole or left un-leveled plays badly for good.

What makes this hard
Why most movers get this wrong.
Risk 01
Slate is heavy and brittle
Each slate slab on a 9-foot table is 200–250 lb of brittle stone. Drop it and it cracks; carry it wrong and it cracks. We carry slate flat, on padded dollies, two-person minimum per slab.
Risk 02
Felt cannot be reused if torn
New felt is $200–$400. We remove felt carefully at origin and protect it during transport. If your felt is older than 5 years, we recommend new felt at destination — included in our pricing if requested.
Risk 03
Re-level is the move
A table that is not perfectly level plays terribly forever. We re-level at destination using shims and a precision machinist level — not a smartphone app. The table plays the same as it did before the move.
What we bring
The right rigging, every time.
Every pool table movers job rolls with this equipment stack on the truck — not "we will pick it up on the way."
- Slate-rated dollies (padded, low-deck)
- Custom slate skids
- Felt removal + re-stretch tools
- Precision machinist level (bubble + digital)
- Shim kit for re-leveling
- Soft-strap rail straps
- Adjustable wood-block lifts
“The moves other movers refer out — pianos, gun safes, hot tubs, antiques. Those are our standard jobs.”
— Mike Stackable, Founder
Documentation protocol
Documented condition, both ends.
- 01
Disassembly + felt removal
Rails first, then felt, then slate. Each step documented and bagged. Hardware labeled to the corresponding component.
- 02
Slate transport
Each slate slab transports on its own padded dolly. Slabs ride flat — never on edge.
- 03
Reassemble + re-level at destination
Frame, slate, felt, rails — in order. Then a full re-level with the machinist level. We do not leave until the table reads dead-flat in every direction.
