Art Condition Report

Standard art condition report includes: photographs from multiple angles, close-ups of any existing damage or wear (scratches, dings, restoration marks), description of materials and dimensions, frame condition documentation, and any prior conservation notes. Report is signed at pickup and again at delivery. Any new damage discovered at delivery can be matched against the report to establish the timing.

For high-value art (typically $5,000+ each), the condition report is the legal foundation for damage claims. Without documented before-photos, the carrier can dispute damage existed pre-move. Reputable specialty movers create condition reports as standard practice for declared art pieces. Customers should ensure this is done.
