Mover Tip Amount
Also known as: Tipping movers, Tip recommendation
Definition
Mover tip amount is the cash gratuity given to the moving crew at the end of a successful move, typically $20-50 per crew member for local moves and $50-100 per crew member for long-distance.
In practice
What it means on a move.
Tipping movers is customary but not mandatory. Typical amounts: Local move 5-8 hours: $20-40 per crew member. Local full day 8-12 hours: $40-60 per crew member. Long-distance multi-day: $50-100 per crew member at delivery. Cash is preferred.
Stakes
Why this matters.
Tips are real income for moving crews. A 3-person crew on a 6-hour local move expecting $40 tips each = $120 total. Tipping signals appreciation and motivates the crew to take extra care. Customer doesn't have to tip if service was poor.
