Photo Estimate
Also known as: virtual estimate, photo walkthrough
Definition
A photo estimate is a written moving estimate based on customer-provided photos and videos of the household goods rather than an in-home inspection. Standard option for time-sensitive bookings or remote customers.
In practice
What it means on a move.
The customer sends photos and a short video walkthrough of each room. The estimator reviews and produces a written estimate within 24-48 hours. For smaller scopes (1-2 bedroom), photo estimates are usually as accurate as in-home inspections. For larger or more complex scopes, in-home inspection is recommended.
Stakes
Why this matters.
Photo estimates are convenient for out-of-state customers or time-sensitive moves. The accuracy depends on the customer's photo coverage — full room walkthroughs work; sparse photos lead to inventory surprises.
Our process
How Muscleman Elite handles it.
Muscleman Elite offers photo estimates on most moves. Customers send room-by-room photos via text or email; we respond within 24-48 hours with a written estimate. For corporate-relo or high-value moves, in-home inspection is the standard.
Questions we get
About Photo Estimate.
- When should I do an in-home estimate vs photo estimate?
- Photo estimate for smaller scopes (1-2 bedroom), remote customers, time-sensitive bookings. In-home for larger scopes, complex specialty items, corporate-relo or high-value moves where accuracy matters more than speed.
