Post-Move Walkthrough
Also known as: Delivery walkthrough, Final walkthrough
Definition
A post-move walkthrough is the inspection done by the crew lead and customer at the end of move day, confirming all inventory items arrived, condition of items and the new home, and any exceptions (missing or damaged items) before the crew departs.
In practice
What it means on a move.
Standard post-move walkthrough: crew lead walks every room with the customer at the new home, confirms each numbered inventory item is present, customer notes any damage or missing items as exceptions on the inventory sheet, crew lead photographs any exceptions, customer signs delivery confirmation. **This walkthrough is critical for any future claim.** Items not noted at delivery are difficult to claim later.
Stakes
Why this matters.
The post-move walkthrough is the customer's last chance to document anything that went wrong. After the crew leaves, the burden of proof for damage or missing items shifts heavily to the customer. Quality movers slow down for the walkthrough and encourage thoroughness. Rushed delivery + brief signature = customer at significant disadvantage if anything turns out to be wrong.
