The market
What this looks like here.
Odessa is the service-and-equipment side of the Permian Basin. Where Midland gets the operator HQs (Diamondback, ExxonMobil Permian, Henry Resources), Odessa gets the oilfield service yards — ProPetro (HQ'd Odessa), Halliburton, SLB, Baker Hughes, Patterson-UTI, Liberty Oilfield Services, plus the trucking, wireline, frac sand, and fluids supply chain. That changes the move-flow math: more service-company owner-operator households, more crew housing transitions, more equipment-and-yard work.
It also changes the operational risk. Odessa has heavier oilfield truck traffic on city arterials than Midland — Loop 338, Andrews Highway / US-385, JBS Parkway — and Ector County fatal truck crashes jumped 80% (5 to 9) year-over-year through 2025. US-285 ("Death Highway") records the worst statistics in the region. We route Odessa local moves off the worst corridors during 5-to-7 AM and 5-to-7 PM oilfield shift-change windows, and our long-distance dispatch avoids US-285 stretches when there's a viable alternate.
ODESSA · MIDLAND & ODESSA
Neighborhoods + property
Inside the boundary.
Tier 1 — luxury / executive:** Country Club (Odessa) neighborhood wraps Odessa Country Club, Faudree Road. OFS owner-operator class. **Mission Estates (79763)
HOA-managed, ~600 homes, price spread from low $100Ks to $1.9M+. The widest price range in any Odessa subdivision. Homestead at Parks Bell Ranch — DR Horton developed 500 acres with 3,000+ homes inside the larger 1,700-acre Parks Bell Ranch master-planned community at SH 191 and Faudree/Yukon. Managed by Parks Bell Ranch Association Inc. Estates Drive / Santa Barbara Court / Brandon Court / San Marcos Court — luxury listings $1.2M-$1.85M.
Schools:** Ector County ISD (ECISD). **Permian High School ("MOJO" Panthers)
the iconic Friday Night Lights school, state titles in 1965, 1972, 1980, 1984, 1989, 1991. Odessa High School — the crosstown rival. 35% of UTPB's incoming class comes from the Direct Admission Program partnership with MISD and ECISD.
Odessa's housing stock is older, denser, and lower-priced than Midland's (median Odessa home $270K vs Midland $368K). The named map skews service-industry, with pockets of executive wealth around Odessa Country Club and Mission Estates.
Tier 2 — established middle / upper-middle: Crescent Park (79761, three miles east of downtown — ranch-style and mid-century-modern, 1950s-60s, $100K-$300K), Cielo Vista, Kenwood Estates, Windsor Heights, Sherwood, Saddleback Estates, Greentree.
Working-class / starter: Much of southern and east-central Odessa is older 1950s-60s tract housing with heavy investor / rental-conversion activity. Mover product here skews labor-only / load-unload and same-day local.
HOA reality: Gated communities are not the norm in Odessa. Parks Bell Ranch is the largest master-planned development. Mission Estates is the largest legacy HOA (~600 homes). National/regional management shops dominate the directory (RowCal, Clark Simson Miller, PMI Alliance, MicroHOA; Spectrum AM advertises Odessa coverage). Verify per HOA on COI and access pattern.
Landmarks: Permian Basin Petroleum Museum (technically Midland but the regional anchor), Stonehenge Replica at UTPB, Ellen Noel Art Museum, Presidential Museum & Leadership Library, Globe of the Great Southwest (Shakespeare's Globe replica), Music City Mall, Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center on the SH 191 corridor between cities.

“Every neighborhood has its own access reality — gate procedure, HOA, canopy clearance, walk-up flights. We work each one specifically, not generically.”

Why we fit this market
The local fit.
For Odessa we run the same closed-van dust-season protocol as Midland — Feb through May, the wind doesn't respect city limits. We also bring bilingual crew availability: Hispanic share of household-help in Odessa neighborhoods like Crescent Park and southern Odessa runs well above the regional average, and a Spanish-language quote and crew matters for both residential and small-business moves.
We're set up for the OFS service-company lane: COIs that meet building-management and corporate-purchasing requirements, flatbed and lowboy capability for skidded equipment, heavy rigging up to forklift 15,000 lb with crane subcontracting relationships, and crating and decking for shock-sensitive frac iron and lab equipment. USDOT 2105156, TxDMV 006568203C. COI turnaround typically 24 to 48 hours.
For the medical and education segments — Medical Center Health System (Odessa's second-largest employer, founded 75+ years ago, serving 17 surrounding counties), Odessa Regional Medical Center, UTPB (Fall 2025 enrollment 5,622, up 2% YoY), Odessa College — we handle the clean-room moves, lab equipment relocations, and FF&E reconfigurations that the OFS lane doesn't cover.
The MOJO calendar matters. A move scheduled during Permian-vs-Midland Legacy game week is a non-starter for any household with school-age kids in Ector County. We schedule around the home schedule, not into it.
Move planning tips
Plan specifically.
- 01
Avoid US-285 between Odessa and the Delaware Basin where there's any alternate.
"Death Highway" is named because it earns it — fatality stats lead the region. Our long-distance dispatch routes around the worst US-285 stretches whenever a viable alternate exists.
- 02
Avoid Loop 338 and Andrews Highway during 5-to-7 AM and 5-to-7 PM oilfield shift change.
Heavy crew-truck volume on these arterials turns a 20-minute local move into a 90-minute one. We schedule local crews 8 AM to 4 PM.
- 03
Dust season is Feb through May.
Closed van only, mattress bags mandatory. Don't accept an open-trailer quote for an Odessa move in March; the wind will sandblast the load.
- 04
MOJO football week is off-limits.
Permian-Midland Legacy game week clears school-age household calendars. We won't schedule into the window.
- 05
Crew housing moves are different.
Small-load same-day work, apartment-to-RV or RV-to-mobile-home transfers, drops at Stanley RV Park or T-Rex Lodging or CHS man camps. We carry the smaller-load product and the speed for these — a $120K oilfield worker living in an RV between assignments is real Odessa demand, not an edge case.

Tell us the date.
Send your Odessa address, the type of move (residential, OFS yard, MCH/UTPB commercial, crew-housing transition), and any HOA or building management contact — we'll come back with a written estimate, a route plan that avoids US-285 where viable, COI filing handled, and bilingual crew if requested. Check availability for your move date or talk to a move planner about Mission Estates, Parks Bell Ranch, or a yard-to-yard equipment move.
