Cube Sheet

During the in-home estimate, the estimator walks every room and notes every item — sofa, bed, dresser, boxes — onto the cube sheet with a standard industry cubic-foot value (a sofa is ~50 cu ft, a queen bed is ~70 cu ft, a small box is ~1.5 cu ft). Total the items, multiply by the industry-standard 7 lbs per cubic foot, and you have an estimated shipping weight. That weight drives the interstate move estimate — labor, transit, valuation, and any accessorials are calculated against it.

The cube sheet is the difference between a binding estimate and an actual delivery weight surprise. A meticulous estimator catches every item; a rushed one undercounts and creates an over-the-110%-rule surprise charge at delivery. Customers should request a copy of the cube sheet and review it — items missed during the walk-through become exclusions on the binding pricing. For interstate moves, the cube sheet plus actual weigh ticket at origin is the only legal basis for the final price.
