The setup
How the move started.
The family — mid-career tech employee, spouse, two school-age children — was relocating from Mountain View to Cedar Park as part of an employer transfer to the Austin metro tech corridor. The employer authorized Aires as the RMC. The target was an August 1 move-out at the Mountain View home and August 13 move-in at the Cedar Park destination, with the Leander ISD school year starting August 19.
Authorization
Aires + the carrier list
Aires is privately held and known for high transferee-satisfaction scores. Their carrier list is somewhat smaller than Cartus or Sirva — when the customer requested Muscleman Elite by name, the counselor confirmed our active status and routed the move accordingly.
Standard Aires corporate-relo paperwork: - Origin inspection (we sent our senior estimator to Mountain View in early July) - Inspection report filed to Aires - COI naming Aires + the employer + the destination property management at the Twin Creeks subdivision HOA - Full Value Protection at the Aires corporate tier - Storage in transit authorization for 12 days (closing-gap) - Move-date confirmed - Bill of Lading at origin
Timing
The closing-gap dance
The customer's Mountain View home sale closed August 1. The Cedar Park home purchase closed August 13. 12 days between vacating one and accessing the other.
The Aires-authorized storage in transit absorbed the gap. Climate-controlled, on the same crew rotation, no second move-out fee.
- August 1: load completed at Mountain View - August 2-9: line-haul transit + storage in transit at our Austin warehouse - August 13: Cedar Park delivery to the new address - August 13-15: placement + organization - August 19: kids start at Leander ISD
The school-year deadline was the operational anchor. Everything backed up from August 19.
Cedar Park destination
Twin Creeks subdivision + the canopy challenge
Twin Creeks is a mid-tier master-planned subdivision in Cedar Park. Some streets in the older sections have mature live-oak canopy that drops to 12-13 feet of clearance — below the 13'6" of a standard moving truck.
Our estimator pre-scouted the destination address during the July site survey. The street did have canopy clearance below 13'6". We staged a 16-foot shuttle truck alongside the main 26-footer for the destination delivery.
The shuttle handled the actual driveway carries; the main truck staged at the subdivision entrance. Added about 2 hours of crew time at delivery but prevented any canopy-strike issues.
Post-move
Punch list + school registration
Standard punch-list crew returned 48 hours after delivery for the inevitable "this monitor stand is missing a part" / "we need this dresser moved 6 inches" follow-up. Included on every corporate-relo move; not an upsell.
The family registered the kids at Leander ISD the next day. We provided the family with our pre-prepared "First 30 Days in the Austin Metro" guide — local services, school district info, family-friendly restaurants, the local park system.
Two months later, the family referred a coworker who was relocating from Sunnyvale to Round Rock via Aires. We handled that move too.
“We had four weeks between the offer accept and the move date. Aires booked us with Muscleman Elite, and the counselor told us they were the carrier she'd want for her own move. The crew showed up, the COI was filed, the shuttle truck handled the canopy issue we didn't know about. I was honestly braced for things to go wrong — they didn't.”

Outcome
How it landed.
The family settled into Cedar Park in time for the Leander ISD school year. The kids transitioned smoothly to the new schools. The family's emails to our office a few months later described the move as "the smoothest part of an otherwise stressful transition."
Employee out-of-pocket on the move: $0. Aires invoiced the employer; the employer paid; the employee saw none of the line items. The move budget covered SIT, FVP, the canopy-shuttle truck, and the punch-list follow-up.
